Revolutionising Optics with New Materials with Hongyan (May) Mei
About the guest
Hongyan (May) Mei is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, USA, engineering and characterising complex optical systems, work that led to discovering giant optical anisotropy in transition metal chalcogenides. Another project used a focused ion beam to tune the optical properties of metal oxides. She began nanophotonics research as an undergraduate in optical science and engineering at Zhejiang University, China.
Hongyan (May) Mei curated the Real Scientists Nano Twitter account (@RealSci_Nano) from November 22 to November 28 2021. Read all of May’s tweets from that week.
