Queer and Quantum Magnetism with Andrew Princep

About the guest

Andrew Princep is the Keeley-Rutherford Junior Research Fellow at Oxford University and STFC, UK, using neutron and X-ray beams to study how atoms are arranged and interact in materials. He published the most complete measurements of the magnetic properties of yttrium iron garnet, a material behind an emerging technology for transmitting information. He studied nanotechnology before a master’s in neutron scattering and a PhD in X-ray measurements of rare-earth intermetallics.

Andrew Princep curated the Real Scientists Nano Twitter account (@RealSci_Nano) from January 5 to January 11 2020. Read all of Andrew’s tweets from that week.
