Punching Materials until they get Angry with Yolanda Manzanares
About the guest
Yolanda Manzanares is a PhD student at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in Spain, where she uses atomic force microscopy to study 2D materials under high pressure. Her work on MoS2 nanodrums showed that atomic defects increase the toughness of single-layer MoS2. She studied physics and did her master’s in condensed matter physics at UAM, with a research stay in Texas in 2020.
Yolanda Manzanares curated the Real Scientists Nano Twitter account (@RealSci_Nano) from August 16 to August 22 2021. Read all of Yolanda’s tweets from that week.
