From Shampoo to LCD – a Theoretical Approach with Charlie Wand
About the guest
Charlie Wand is a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Manchester, UK, a computational chemist working on soft matter, from liquid crystals in phone displays to surfactants in shampoo, simulating molecules as virtual beads. Work at the University of Cambridge developed a computational approach to calculate the solubility of large molecules. Charlie did a chemistry degree and a PhD at the University of York.
Charlie Wand curated the Real Scientists Nano Twitter account (@RealSci_Nano) from February 9 to February 15 2020. Read all of Charlie’s tweets from that week.
