William Brant is an Assistant Professor at Uppsala University, Sweden, using X-rays and neutrons to see inside batteries and understand how electrochemically active materials form and change. With colleagues, he developed a low-cost synthesis of Prussian white, a cathode material for sodium batteries, patented it and created a spin-off company.
