Kwasi Amoako Kwakwa is an Imaging Scientist at EMBL-EBI, UK, building and managing microscopes that image active genes in thin slices of tissue. After a physics degree, a master’s in bio/nanophotonics and a PhD imaging the orientation of single molecules, Kwasi held postdocs building microscopes; ideas from the first postdoc are now used outside that lab.
