Before you write your ERC proposal, do this first
Every edge counts — including this one.
Hello hellooo,
The ERC Advanced Grant 2026 is now open!
ERC Advanced Grant 2026
Call identifier: ERC-2026-AdGFunding: Up to €2.5 million for 5 years (pro rata for shorter projects)
Additional funding: Up to €1 million for researchers already in the EU or an associated country; up to €2 million for researchers relocating from a non-associated third country
Additional funding now covers: Personnel costs (new for 2026)
Submission deadline: 27 August 2026, 17:00 Brussels time
What are the odds
35,258 proposals were evaluated for the ERC Advanced Grant scheme. 4,303 projects are funded. That’s a 12% success rate.
Those are the odds you’re working with.
So when you sit down to write your proposal, every edge matters.
And one of the most valuable edges is completely free — and most applicants never use it.
The thing people skip
The ERC publishes the titles and abstracts of every funded project. That means you can see exactly what kinds of research get funded, how successful applicants frame their work, and what language lands with ERC reviewers.
This is not a small dataset.
The ERC has evaluated over 143,846 proposals across all schemes and funded 18,587 projects. There is a lot to learn from.
The problem? This information is scattered across different parts of the ERC website. Finding it, verifying it, and pulling it into something usable takes hours — if you know where to look at all.
What I put together
I spent time doing exactly that — tracking down, verifying, and compiling the most useful ERC resources into one place.
The result is the ERC Advanced Grant 2026 Resource Kit: a handpicked, verified PDF with everything you need to study funded projects and write a stronger proposal.

The ERC process is competitive, but you do not have to go in without preparation. The information is out there — and now it’s in one place for you.
