Not as often as you think

“How often should I post?”

I get this question in every training. My response surprises the room because they have been told to post 3-5 times per week.

But the thing is, the algorithm doesn’t care about your posting streak. It cares about whether your post is adding value to the people who read it.

Here’s what I’ve learnt: 1) Strategy over frequency - A thoughtfully crafted post every two weeks will outperform daily content that doesn’t resonate. 2) Clarity over consistency - Know exactly who you’re writing for and what problem you’re solving for them. Group leaders transitioning from individual contributor to strategic leader need different content than early-career researchers. Specificity creates connection. Randomness creates noise. 3) Insight over activity - What shifts thinking? What validates a challenge they’re facing? What offers genuine value? These questions matter far more than maintaining a calendar.
